An Effective method of Zircon product found

North of Trincomalee, in Pulmoddai, is a valuable mineral sand deposit. At Pulmoddai, the beach sand is composed of 90% heavy minerals, including 65% ilmenite, 10% zircon, and 10% rutile. After excavating the coastal belt of about four kilometers, the previous excavated places are nat- urally refilled with mineral sands. This deposit is replenished during the northeast monsoon and the influence of the ocean currents.
